Horsehead Corporation produces Prime Western and Special High Grade zinc metal as defined in ASTM Specification B6.

Uses

Prime Western Zinc (PW) is a nominal 1% lead zinc alloy used extensively in after-fabrication hot-dip galvanizing and as a component of brass alloys.

Special High Grade Zinc (SHG) is a high purity grade of zinc (99.990% Zn minimum) used in hot-dip and electro-galvanizing and as a component of brass alloys.
